Full Day Bike Trips
Our full day guided bicycle trips on the Central Coast of
California are among the very best guided bicycle trips in California.
A moderate climate combined with spectacular scenery,
several distinct wine growing regions and a picture perfect stretch of
Highway One make the Central Coast an amazing destination for California Coast bike trips as well as wine country guided bicycle trips. All of our
full day bike trips feature a relatively full day of riding (usually
25-40 miles) and a gourmet picnic
lunch. You may bring your own bike or use one
of ours, the bike is included in the price of the tour.

Our full day California guided bike trips that ride through wine country
areas also feature opportunities to taste wine at several excellent
local wineries on the route (tasting fees not included in tour
price). And the van is always there to carry your wine purchases or
pick you up if you get tired. If you are more interested in doing less
riding and more wine tasting, we suggest checking out our Morning Bike / Afternoon Wine Taste
tours or Half Day Bike tours.
Either way, you'll have great time on your guided bicycle trip on California's Central Coast.

Throughout the planning of the trip your response to email and telephone messages was very timely, the food was great, and the routes were fabulous. I would recommend your program to anyone with no reservations.

The Edna Valley full day bike trip features some of the prettiest bicycle riding in San Luis Obispo County, plus several excellent wineries to taste at along the bike route. This guided bicycle trip through the valley begins just outside San Luis Obispo and ventures immediately into the wine country that begins just south of town. Get your camera ready for stunning views of picturesque hills rising above rows of grapes. We have opportunities to visit such award winning San Luis Obispo wineries as Chamisal, Kynsi and Baileyana, with the highlight being a gourmet picnic lunch and complimentary tasting at Talley Vineyards, located in the heart of Edna Valley. Longer cycling options into the rolling farms and ranchland south of Edna Valley are also possible. After lunch, this California guided bicycle trip yields beautiful views of the Nine Sisters, a line of craggy volcanic hills stretching from San Luis Obispo to Morro Bay. With all the options to extend mileage outside the immediate valley and so many wineries in the central area, our Edna Valley full day bike tour is an ideal California guided bicycle trip for cyclists of differing abilities and interests.

| BIKING: Pacific Coast Highway - Full Day |
 |
Come see why magnificent Highway One through northern San Luis Obispo County is one of the premier places for California coast bike trips. Located just south of the Big Sur coast, this stretch of California coast is every bit as beautiful as Big Sur, but lacks the major climbs and hairpin turns of the Big Sur coastal highway. Imagine yourself on your bike on an undulating road with waves crashing below the bluffs to your right while the picturesque coastal range rises on your left. It rarely gets better than this. On this California guided bicycle trip, we shuttle up to Ragged Point and cycle south past a colony of decidedly odd looking elephant seals, as well as the legendary Hearst Castle and San Simeon Cove. After a delicious gourmet picnic lunch at a seaside park, we ride our bikes through the delightful village of Cambria, home to numerous art galleries and shops, before winding in the classic beach town of Cayucos.
Those up for more cycling on this California coast bike trip may explore inland along an idyllic valley or continue south to Morro Bay, where we detour southwest for an unforgettable bike ride to the "end of the road," featuring stunning views of the ocean and estuary below.

BIKING: Paso Robles - Full Day |
 |
|
Just northeast of Paso Robles lies a bicycling and wine tasting region that features quiet country roads and plenty of small, friendly wineries that boast award winning red wines. Our full day California guided bicycle trip of Paso Robles starts at the historic Mission San Miguel before winding down a peaceful road by the Salinas River.
Later in the morning we bike up a short hill into the heart of the Paso Robles winery region and cycle by San Antonio and Le Vigne wineries before stopping for a gourmet picnic lunch at J. Lohr. In the afternoon, we zigzag on our bikes along picturesque roads back to the mission and there are ample opportunities to extend the mileage by bicycling even further east of Paso Robles into canyon and ranch country.

What is included in the price of your full
day bike tours?
All our California guided bicycle trips are fully guided
tours that include everything to make your time with us as pleasant
and care free as possible. Included in the price of the tour
are:
- Bicycle and helmet.
- Vehicle and guide/driver for route support.
- Printed directions for the ride and usually a map as well.
- Snacks and water.
- All necessary shuttles during the tour.
- Gourmet picnic lunch.
- Pick-up from nearby hotel (pick-ups at hotels not near the trip
can be arranged for an extra fee - contact us for details).
- Note that winery tasting fees (except at wineries where we picnic)
are typically not included in our full day bike trips. Winery
tasting fees are included in our
AM Bike / PM Wineries tours.
How do you determine difficulty ratings?
On our California guided bicycle trips,
it is challenging to come up with a difficulty rating system that
is relevant for everyone. A very fit cyclist might consider our
"Moderately Strenuous" trips to not be hard at all, while someone
who exercises infrequently or is not used to cycling might find a
"Moderately Easy" tour to be quite a challenge. Our bicycle tour
rating system is based on the approximate fitness level of a casual
recreational cyclist who rides at least once per week and rides over
fifteen miles on a regular basis. If you ride less or more than
this, please adjust your expectations of the tour accordingly. To
flesh out the rather subjective difficulty rating, we also include
the distance for each guided tour and a terrain description. We are also
available by phone to discuss the difficulty of any of our tours.
What bicycles do you provide with your
tours?
We feature Norco Performance
Bikes on our California guided bicycle trips.
You have the choice of a hybrid
bike with upright handlebars or a road bike with drop (racing style)
handlebars. Both bikes are designed for efficient travel on the road
and have Shimano components. Both bicycle styles have a map case attached to
the handlebars and the hybrids also have a rear rack bag to store
gear. We stock a variety of frame sizes to fit your needs. Please
supply your desired bike type, height and pedal preference when you
reserve a trip so we can pick the appropriate bike for you.
Will the guide cycle with us?
Although your guide would love to ride with you on your California guided bicycle trip with us, with group sizes of
six and under on full day bike trips we assign one guide for the tour
and they are typically needed to drive the support vehicle with lunch
and other supplies. Group sizes over six typically have two guides
assigned with one driving the van and the other on bike. Many of our
half day bike trips and are loops and the guide can bicycle with the group no matter the group size.
